Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Dionne Garon and I am a candidate for New Hampshire State Representative in Rockingham County, District 25. I moved to Salem with my family in 2019 and have grown to love the town. I have lived in Salem for over 5 years now, and have lived in this area of New England for 25 years. I see Salem as a wonderful town with a diverse landscape, and it is where my husband and I plan to raise our family. Since moving to Salem I discovered my passion for becoming more involved with my community, including volunteering, donating to local charities, attending community meetings, and more. Currently, I serve as Vice-Chair of Salem’s Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) and as Chair of Salem’s Master Plan Steering Committee. I find myself wanting to help the town in even more meaningful ways, and this is the driving force behind my candidacy for New Hampshire State Representative.

In my years of living in Salem, I have observed that we are a community facing many of the same challenges plaguing our state and country as a whole, and I believe I can bring a fresh perspective to the table when it comes to joining together to work on these issues. In my view, the biggest issues currently facing our town and state are Housing, Healthcare and Women’s Rights, Education, and Taxes.

I believe I possess the qualities needed for a position of public service, and those who know me best would agree. I have a strong sense of duty that compels me to work and behave with integrity. I believe leadership as a public servant is about being mindful of and caring for those in our society who are underserved, displaying awareness and empathy, and prioritizing the well-being of our community and those in it. And most importantly I believe public service is about what you can do for others, not what serving can do for you – something I think many of our current representatives seem to forget.
